The system of relationships between employees in a larger workplace is very complex due to the various teams, departments and management groups that form an integrated, overlapping network. Everyone has their own network comprising many communities that intertwine through shared acquaintances. This lecture focuses on the practical methods and applications that help unpick these networks with special consideration given to interrelationships within large companies. These methods allow us to look for answers to many important questions: Are formal and informal networks similar within a company and which are the key groups?
