András Falus, immunologist and member of HAS, has introduced us to the blossoming science of genomics, which studies the complete set of an organism's genes, or genome. Biological sciences will now be viewed in terms of genomics. Genomics is based on genome programs, biological nanotechnology (gene chips) and bioinformatics. Medical genomics has a predictive potential, which provides an entirely new approach and perspective of diagnostics and therapy in human medicine.
