After the publication of New Journal of Physics in 1998, the first major open access journal in physics, IOPP has been working side by side with the international physics and, more broadly, scientific community to create one of the fairest open access business models out there. In this presentation we will provide the historic background and current initiatives IOPP has been working on within the open access panorama.
